What is the Temple Tournament?
It is a new tournament for the game Cabals organized by me (Mip) with help and sponsorship by Kyy Games.

How is this tournament different from the last one at the start of season 2?
This tournament is not a competition for rating points, but a double elimination tournament. That means if you lose 1 round, you are dropped to the lower tier, losing in the lower tier means elimination. If less than 7 players sign up, it will be a competition style tournament.

What are these rounds you mentioned?
A round lasts a week and consists of 4 matches played against your opponent. Both of you play a hero of each cabal once during these 4 rounds, the order in which is up to the player and secret. The winner of the most of these 4 rounds is declared the winner of your round. Should you tie 2-2 in these 4 games, you play a tie breaker with free choice of hero for both.

Who is my opponent and how do we know we it is a tournament game?
Your opponent is decided by a (until the start of the tournament, but known to the people at Kyy) secret calculation based on your ratings, so you can't game your rating to get a chance to fight specific people. At the start of each week a list of people with their opponent (and forum names) will be posted by me on the forum. You can then pm your opponent to arrange a time for your matches. While playing these matches you temporarily change your name to "player name + tournament" so that in your screenshots it shows you are both playing for the tournament. Both the winner and loser pm me the results of your match. I do not need the screenshots pm'd, I will only ask for them if you send me two different outcomes.

We can't arrange a time together, help?
If you and your opponent can not agree on a time, the matches will be held on sunday at 12:00 GMT (15:00 Kyy Central Time). If I have received no results and one of you doesn't show the other is declared winner and the no-show is eliminated from the tournament. If stated at least a day before that you can't make it, it will only count as a loss. If you both show up, you play the games then.

We arranged at a time, but he didn't show up on the IRC-channel to play the games?
If I am online at that time on the IRC-channel you can talk to me about your opponent being a no-show and send me a screenshot of you both agreeing on this time. You are declared winner, he is declared loser (not eliminated).
If I am not online, any two other participants in the tournament as witnesses who pm me is also good. If none are to be found, that is tough luck, and the match will be held on Sunday, unless the two of you reschedule.

How do I sign up?
You post in the sign-up thread with your account name + rating. Sign up is unitl the 12th of may. This is the sign up thread: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=426

I don't have all four decks and I really want to join, but my brother/sister/friend has the other one, please?
Should you find someone so that you both together have all 4 cabals, you can compete as a team. You need to sign up with both account names + rating on the sign-up thread. Both of you should be available at the same time to play the game, as to not inconvenience the other player. If one of you no-shows, you are both no-shows. You also elect a team captain, he is responsible for pm'ing me the results, no cases of we both thought the other one did it.

What do we win?
Besides the immortal glory of winning, Kyy will soon announce that...... Quote from Mika: "Kyy Games has promised to sponsor more awesome and special prizes than ever before". Now more information about the prizes:

1. 1000 Influence, Cabals themed deck of playing cards and a Cabals painting.
2. 800 Influence and Cabals themed deck of playing cards.
3. 600 Influence and Cabals themed deck of playing cards.
4. 400 Influence and Cabals themed deck of playing cards.
5. 200 Influence and Cabals themed deck of playing cards.
The playing cards are not real cabals cards, but just the 52 card sets with a cabals theme.

Isn't it kind of obsolete to post your current rating in the sign-up thread since it is going to change X times in Y direction before the actual tournament?

Or is the point that you sign up with a "average" rating so that you get a general idea of the players skill level. Thats what I did at least, signed up at 1900 rating since thats where I am usually, +/- 50 pts.

Sure it can vary quite a bit, but there is a difference between 1900 and 1500. It is only done to have a kind of indication and to provide a slightly random order to add people in the planned matches schedule.

I don't have a real problem with you using four accounts, just name them all + rating in the sign up thread. I mostly said two, since with 4 different people it becomes really hard to find a time to play the games.

If signup ends saturday the 12th, do we have until the 19th to finish our first round? If everyone finishes the round early can we start the next round then or the next week (if so what day)?

Yes, after the sign up closes on saturday evening (my time) I will post the matchups the following morning on the forum. You will then have until 12:00 GMT (15:00 Kyy Central Time) on the sunday thereafter to either pm the results or show up on the chat to play them, so about 7 days.

As soon as I have all the results (from both players of each match, so no discussions) I will make the next set of match ups and post them. This will mean you have some extra days for the next round of matches, since I'm not going to force people to play at possibly odd times during the week. So I will keep the sundays as final deadline. And during the week I won't have all that much time to go and babysit people at the deadline should that be necessary.
I plan to pm everyone in the case of earlier matchups which should (with normal settings) also notify you by email that you have a pm, so that everyone knows when they can look for new matchups, since not everyone watches the forum the whole day. But I will post them by latest on monday morning (my time/gmt+1) depending on how fast the sunday matches go and if there are any.
